Internship Position Description

CRB is seeking a driven intern to join us as we expand our blockchain, web 3 focused angel investor group. You can learn more about CRB here: www.chainreactionboston.com.

 

We are looking for a team member to work closely with CRB leadership to build and manage our pipeline of Blockchain, Web3, and Crypto industry investing opportunities. In this role, you will engage with founders, research their companies and business models, and review their provided materials.  In addition to meeting founders, you will have the opportunity to meet with other investors (both angels and venture capitalists), attend pitch sessions and develop relationships with referral sources such as industry incubators and accelerators.

While extensive expertise in Blockchain, Web3, or Cryptocurrency is not required, you should have a genuine interest in these fields and be prepared to deepen your understanding through research and participation in industry events.

You will meet regularly with the team to report progress and provide recommendations on company’s worth further consideration and referral sources to partner with. You will communicate with founders using email, Discord, X and Telegram while tracking your work in our CRM HubSpot.

Duties and Responsibilities 

In this role, you will: 

 

  1. Communicate with Web3 VC firms, incubators and other referral sources to learn about their cohorts of developing companies and the specific industries they target. 

  2. Participate in pitch events, demo days, and Boston-based industry events to meet founders, learn about startups, and develop relationships. 

  3. Research, gather data, and record key metrics on companies, focusing on their business models, traction, and potential. 

  4. Meet weekly with leadership to review the deal pipeline and identify a shortlist of companies to invite for a pitch and referral sources to connect with. 

  5. Coordinate, schedule, and manage logistics for pitch sessions. 

  6. Attend our monthly meeting, typically held on the first Wednesday of each month, from 5 PM to 7:30 PM in Downtown Boston. 

  7. Provide feedback and next steps to founders after pitches, including invitations for deeper discussions or notifications of non-selection.

Hours and Compensation

  • This is a remote position. You can work from home, as we do not maintain a physical office. 

  • Expect to work approximately 4–5 hours per week, for a total of about 20 hours per month. Your specific schedule will be set during a weekly check-in with leadership.  Chain Reaction would not require support in July or August during the year.

  • Compensation includes an annual stipend of $2,500, paid monthly, as well as membership in the Boston Blockchain Association.
