External Process For Applicants

Chain Reaction evaluates opportunities through a structured 8-step process. At each stage, we assess fit, viability, and member interest before advancing a company to the next step. Here's what to expect:
Opportunity Screening
Initial intake and review to determine whether an opportunity fits Chain Reaction's focus and merits presentation to members. Applications are reviewed by a committee of Chain Reaction members. Companies selected to proceed are invited to an introductory call.
Introductory Call
A 30-minute call with the Chain Reaction screening team to learn more about the business, team, ask, and timeline. This helps both sides assess whether there's a good fit before investing more time
Initial Pitch
Company presents to the group in a 10-minute pitch followed by 10 minutes of Q&A. Members provide structured feedback and indicate their interest in learning more. An Opportunity Lead is assigned to guide the company through subsequent steps
Additional Information Review
Based on member feedback from the initial pitch, targeted questions and information requests are compiled and shared with the company. The company provides follow-up materials addressing these areas.
Opportunity Validation Meeting
A follow-up meeting with the company to review additional materials, discuss responses to key questions, and address any outstanding concerns. The goal is to confirm there are no deal blockers before advancing to a full pitch.
Full Pitch
Company returns for a deeper presentation addressing strategy, differentiation, economics, and the priority questions raised by members. Members indicate their level of investment interest.
Due Diligence
Interested members conduct targeted diligence on market, product, financials, legal, technical, and risk factors. The company is asked to provide access to a data room and support the diligence process.
Investment Decision
Members determine individual interest in participating, sizing, and terms. The opportunity moves to an active investment or remains on the watch list for continued monitoring.
